We houden ons graag bezig met het frivole werk aan strips en manga, maar technische en administratieve teksten zijn voor ons eigenlijk belangrijker.
Daarom danken we graag IATE om ons al 10 jaar de officiële Europese vertalingen van technische, administratieve en wetenschappelijke termen te geven.

About IATE
IATE (= “Inter-Active Terminology for Europe”) is the EU’s inter-institutional terminology database. IATE has been used in the EU institutions and agencies since summer 2004 for the collection, dissemination and shared management of EU-specific terminology. The project partners are:

The project was launched in 1999 with the objective of providing a web-based infrastructure for all EU terminology resources, enhancing the availability and standardisation of the information.
IATE incorporates all of the existing terminology databases of the EU’s translation services into a single new, highly interactive and accessible interinstitutional database. The following legacy databases have been imported into IATE, which now contains approximately 1.4 million multilingual entries:

Euterpe (EP),
Euroterms (Translation Centre),
CDCTERM (Court of Auditors),

Yoko Tsuno Integrale 1: Van de Aarde naar Vinea
Vertaalbureau Motte keek met belangstelling uit naar de eerste exemplaren van het Yoko Tsuno-verzamelalbum Van de Aarde naar Vinea, omdat op pagina 2 staat: Redactionele correcties binnenwerk: Peter Motte.
We corrigeerden de Nederlandse versie van de drie strips vanaf pagina 27 tot en met 164, dus niet de inleiding, het portfolio of andere tekst. Er werden spelfoutjes verwijderd, grammaticafoutjes, soms vertaalfoutjes, maar ook wetenschappelijk en technisch inhoudelijke fouten.
Tot onze verrassing was het aantal veranderingen door de recente spellingwijzigingen gering.
Soms hebben we de tekst ook wat gemoderniseerd.
